  • You are part of the Treasury and M&A team at Schiphol Group that focuses on Corporate Treasury and Mergers and Acquisitions while also working closely with the Schiphol International team. Corporate Treasury has a broad and diverse responsibility within Royal Schiphol Group, including corporate finance, M&A, managing external debt portfolio of circa EUR 5bn, investor relations, credit ratings, risk & cash management, hedging and insurance & claims at Schiphol Group.
  • Schiphol International has the ambition to be a world player in international airport development and is responsible for managing the current portfolio of international airport investments as well as expanding the portfolio by adding new investments.
  • In this role you will work in a small and motivated team. You will report to the Corporate Treasurer and work closely with the Schiphol International team.
    With over 4,200 dedicated colleagues, we are working on our mission: to create a home base for global travellers.
Connecting your world

As Corporate Finance Manager you will play a key role in executing Schiphol Group’s treasury and international development strategies and policies. You will be the driving force on a broad range of projects, such as attracting external financing for Royal Schiphol Group,  (international) M&A transactions, execute hedging strategies and international business development. Together with the corporate treasurer, you will present Schiphol towards external stakeholders (such as banks and bond investors) and support internal decision-making of senior management with best in class financial analyses. And how you approach this? That’s up to you. We trust in the way you pursue goals with enthusiasm and determination, know how to convince others of your vision and overcome obstacles with confidence. You put your talents to work at:

  • leading financing projects to attract a broad range of external debt, including loans and issuing bonds.
  • being the project lead on (international) M&A transactions and liaise with external corporate finance and due diligence teams.
  • executing derivative transactions to mitigate financial risks.
  • together with the corporate finance advisors, developing financial models to determine company valuation, cash flow projections and/or, financing need.
  • using quantitative and qualitative analysis and develop presentations/board papers to enable decision making by (senior) management.
  • implementing and maintaining assurance policies (such as impairment analysis, going concern analysis, stress testing of cash flow forecasts, alignment with Treasury policies).

 

Together with Schiphol International colleagues develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of international acquisition and partnership opportunities.

  • 10+ years working experience in a relevant role, preferably within a corporate finance/transaction services department, corporate lending department at a bank, private equity, and/or treasury department.
  • experience in (corporate) finance, transactions services and/or treasury is a must.
  • a university degree in for example; finance, business economics, business administration or equivalent education is required.
  • fluency in English, both verbal and written, is a must. A good understanding of Dutch is preferred.

About the team

Finance

The Finance department of Royal Schiphol Group consists of six specialized teams with a total of 140 employees. Together, they are responsible for safeguarding the financial health of the organization, as well as for both internal and external reporting – financial and non-financial. Within Business Performance Management, we support the decision-making of our three business units – Aviation, Commercial, and Alliances & Participations – by providing insights into current performance and future planning cycles. We play a crucial role in monitoring the group’s investment portfolio. In addition, our Treasury & Corporate Finance department ensures an optimal financing structure, not only for current operations but also with a view to future developments.
