The world of Finance & Control

Join us in the economy of Schiphol

Working in the 24/7 economy of an airport

Finance & Control forms the financial foundation of an airport that operates 24/7. Here, teams manage investments, risks, performance and reliable reporting, from major infrastructure projects to international collaborations. Across this broad field, various teams work together to deliver transparent figures, strong analyses and future‑proof decision‑making. Discover below how each specialism contributes to keeping Schiphol financially healthy, sustainable and ready for the future.
Business Control
Business Control provides the financial translation of Schiphol’s strategic goals. You continuously assess where we stand, where we need to go and which resources are required to get there. Through the planning and control cycle, you clearly map out performance, risks and budgets, and you advise the organisation based on data. You are a critical sparring partner who provides direction and ensures that Schiphol can make well‑founded decisions, all in an environment that operates 24/7.
P2P and O2C
Also known as Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash. Within P2P and O2C, everything revolves around smooth financial processes. P2P includes invoice processing, accounts payable management and ensuring that suppliers are paid correctly and on time. O2C focuses on invoicing, bank administration, accounts receivable management and the invoicing of airport charges. Together, these teams ensure that cash flows are accurate, stakeholders are paid or invoiced on time and that Schiphol’s financial backbone remains strong and reliable.
Project Control
Project Control safeguards the financial health of major infrastructure projects at Schiphol. You work closely with project managers and keep a sharp focus on three crucial pillars: money, time and risk. You analyse budgets, assess financial decisions and ensure that projects are executed responsibly, predictably and with the future in mind. In this role, you combine solid financial expertise with an understanding of complex technical projects.
IFRS Control
IFRS Control focuses on the financial steering of Schiphol’s national and international participations. This includes airports such as Eindhoven, Rotterdam and Lelystad, as well as international partners in cities like New York, Paris and Brisbane. You are involved in complex transactions, assess financial structures and ensure that everything complies with international IFRS guidelines. You also play an important role in accurate and transparent reporting for both internal stakeholders and external regulators. In short, you make sure that Schiphol remains financially in control worldwide, in a landscape where technology, international collaboration and major investments come together.
ESG Control
ESG Control builds the reporting and control framework for everything related to sustainability, governance and societal impact. You develop structure and governance around ESG data, ensure that this data is reliable and verifiable, and safeguard the quality of all periodic reports, including the annual report. In this role, you contribute directly to Schiphol’s ambition to be among the most sustainable airports in the world by 2030. You connect financial expertise with sustainability, strategy and reporting. You work with data that truly matters, from CO₂ reduction to the energy transition and from social responsibility to transparent governance.
Corporate Finance
Corporate Finance raises external funding, assesses business cases and is involved in mergers, acquisitions and international growth. You challenge plans, explore scenarios and support decision‑making with solid analyses. You continually focus on value creation, financial feasibility and long‑term strategic resilience.
Record-to-Report
Responsible for the internal and external period closings of the entities and the related reports to the Executive Board. This includes the monthly Quick Review and the half‑year and annual financial statements, as well as Schiphol’s tax return.
