Safety & environment thinks ahead regarding safe and healthy working and travelling at any time of day or night. Interprets ‘environment’ very broadly: within and outside Schiphol, but also in the region. Also gears tasks and limits with Security.
HSE Office
Stands for health, safety & environment. Closely monitors legislation and rules regarding safety, occupational health and the environment. Keeps control via administrative and audit.
Fire safety
Manages fire safety installations and strict fire safety rules for products and materials. Gearing of fire safety plans with the fire services, insurers and local authorities.
Environmental service
Develops policy to reduce the environmental impact of Schiphol. Areas of attention from air to water, noise levels, waste and energy. Compliant with legislation and rules.
Fire Brigade
Is available within three minutes. Specialised in aviation fires thanks to the Firefly practice plane. Works from three strategic positions: Posts at Sloten, Rijk and Vijfhuizen.
